Japanese Lesson -1, Greetings! (Morning)

SweetWhisper and I actually kinda speak Japanese.  Surprise?
So I thought I maybe able to open up my own Japanese class here in my blog!
SweetWhisper can speak Korean too.  So I hope she opens up her Korean class as well some day!?

Today's lesson is GREETINGS!
You may already know some greetings in Japanese.
So today's lesson could be a bit boring for you But hope you can learn something new!

Let's see from Morning...

You get up..... going downstairs.... aaaaagh.... Nemui... (sleepy)
You see your okaa-san (mom).... well, what will you say?

"Ohayo!" (Good morning)

Okaa-san just made you a pancake... mmmmm smells good!
Of course you gotta pour some Canadian maple syrup on it!
Pancake without maple syrup is like humbergers without buns! or, hotdogs without ketchup!! or, bubble tea without pearls!! o that's enough?  okay okay.... lets move on...

go back to the pancake.
Your Okaa-san says... "Here is your pancake!"
What will you say?

"Aligato" (Thank you)

Yes! I knew you knew it!
Okaa-san says ''Dou itashimashite!'' (You are welcome)
Now you start eating.... oh! hold on! you forgot something!
In Japan, people say ''Itadakimasu!''  when they start eating.  To show appreciation to a cook.

Hmmmm it was yummy!  What will you say before you leave the table?
        "Gochisoo sama deshita!''
You don't have this expression in English but this also shows your appreciation and that you enjoyed the meal.

Kay... now you have to go to school.
When you leave home, you say ''Itte kimasu.'' which means I am going.
Okaa-san says ''Itte lasshai!''  (expression used when u see someone off)

(one thing I have to say is... I use L instead of R as Japanese do not use R sound.  They usually say L.  I don't understand why most of text books use R though...)

Now you arrived at the school.
O is that your teacher who is walking toward you?  Lets greet!
(LOL you are not gonna greet? well this is just an example you know!)

''Ohayo gozaimasu!''(Good morning)

Did you notice this is a bit different from the one you said to your mom?
''Gozaimasu'' - shows respect.  This is a formal way of saying good morning.

Well Let's learn more greetings in Lesson 2!

Hope to see you in the class again!

Matane! (see you again.)
